Guidance ServicesOxford High School guidance services exist to facilitate the growth and development of students as they progress through school. Services are designed to help all students in their educational planning, decision-making, and personal-social development. Counselors are committed to working with parents and students alike to gain the greatest benefit from the school experience. Guidance services complement the instructional and administrative operations of the school and provide opportunities for students to develop self-understanding, self-evaluation, and self-direction. The goal of the counselor is to enhance the maturity of the student in becoming a young person who understands the responsibility for making decisions and living with the outcomes or consequences. Guidance counselors will be available throughout the school day for individual and group conferences. Classroom teachers are expected to refer students to a guidance counselor, and students are expected to ask a guidance counselor for assistance. Last Modified on June 29, 2009
