GED Options Program

Criteria for Entrance into the Program

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
  
  
• Must be at least one grade level behind or have acquired less than four (4) Carnegie units.
  
  
• Must have taken every opportunity to continue in course work leading to a regular high school diploma.
  
  
• Documentation of Superintendent’s (or designated proxy’s) approval for participation. Written parental permission to participate.
  
  
• Must score at least 7th grade level on the Tests of Adult Basic Education in the areas of Reading, Math, and, Language.
  
  
• No discipline referrals within the last 30 days of school attendance.
  
  
• Approval from the GED Option Committee before class attendance can begin.
