Athletics in the
Oxford School District

The Oxford School District athletic department offers 20 sports teams on the high school level and 9 teams on the middle school level, including cheerleading on all levels. Furthermore; sports in which a specific middle school team is not offered, the middle school student-athletes are eligible to compete on the high school level in that sport. In the past four years a total of 8 teams from Oxford have been crowned state champion. Over the course of the last 20 years, the Charger athletic program has won the Class 5A All-Sports Award 13 times and has finished in the top 3 all 20 years! This award is determined by a point system based on the final results of each athletic team. The end result signifies the best over-all sports programs in the state of Mississippi.
