Welcome to OHS!

Welcome to Oxford High School for the 2011-2012 school year. We anticipate another outstanding year. The OHS faculty is excited to meet the incoming freshmen class as well as our returning sophomores, juniors and seniors. Oxford High School has always been a dynamic place for learning. There is a long tradition of excellence, which we are dedicated to continuing.

  • Suggested and Required summer reading lists have been posted online. Click here to view them.
  • A photography workshop for teens will be offered in Farly Hall at Ole Miss June 28-30th. This workshop is specifically aimed at high school students ages 15-18. Applications are in the office, or you can contact Beth Fitts at mefitts@olemiss.edu for more information.
  • All confiscated cell phones may be picked up by a parent beginning May 9th. Remember that cell phones must be powered “off” during the school day. They must be left in a purse or book bag. All phones that are confiscated after the 9th will be kept in the school vault until June the 1st. NO CELL PHONE USE will be permitted in the classroom the remainder of the year. This is just one safeguard to help create a safe environment as well as discouraging academic dishonesty.
  • Students….remember as exams begin all OHS rules still apply. You must still be checked out by a parent, dress code hasn’t changed and academic dishonesty will be dealt with severely.
  • There is a $1,000.00 scholarship available to a MS high school senior who will be attending the University of Southern Mississippi. For more information, please visit www.xap.com/scholarship. The closing date for the entries is May 18.
  • Summer school information and registration forms are available online as well as in both the counseling and front office

  • Support the Oxford Endowment for Public Education (OEPE) with a tax-deductible donation. OEPE provides new library books, science equipment and many other items that our teachers need but do not have the funds to purchase. Donate online or send a check to OEPE at P.O. Box 765, Oxford, MS 38655.
